another letterbox for Texas

There aren't many in this state yet, but I'm doing my part to
change that. Here's the latest, near Amarillo in Palo Duro Canyon
State Park. The Canyon is 800 feet deep and 110 miles long, but
you don't have to hike that far to get to the letterbox. (http://www.palodurocanyon.com)

"Follow the lighthouse trail to the base of the steps. (+/- 2.2
miles) From the bike rack go 75' at 120 degrees to the gnarled
juniper. Site the boulder at 120 degrees on the floor of the
ravine. Backtrack and go off trail to the boulder, then pick
up the side trail heading 150 degrees until you reach a 10' wide
flat rock on the left side of the trail. From the rock, site
another large juniper at 120 degrees across the ravine. It is
to the right of the spanish skirts and slightly above two large
rock outcroppings. The letterbox is in the tree bole."

The clue is also on my web site and will include some helpful
photos after I scan the pictures tonight.

I camped at Palo Duro while going cross country and had a fabulous
time exploring the area. Glad to hear there's a letterbox there!
